We are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted again for the Best Performing Company – IT Managed Services ‘Emerging Stars’ award at the upcoming 2023 Megabuyte100 awards - our first nomination since becoming the Datum Group.
The Emerging Stars awards are part of the Megabuyte100 award series, which collectively celebrates the UK’s best-performing privately owned, scale-up and quoted technology companies. The awards identify the UK's 25 best-performing scale-up technology companies, as defined by Megabuyte’s proprietary Megabuyte Scorecard benchmarking methodology.
The Emerging Stars awards are an independent ranking of the UK’s best-performing technology scale-ups. They identify the UK’s 25 best performers and, within that universe, they measure excellence both within peer groups and overall. Companies are assessed against five financial criteria including size, growth and margins.
Winners will be announced on 16 March 2023 at the Megabuyte100 awards event at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London.
Third time lucky …
This isn’t our first bite at the Megabuyte Awards cherry. We were first shortlisted for a Megabuyte award in 2020 for the Best Performing Company - Data Centre & Hosting Services award and received a ranking of 17 out of 25.
We were then shortlisted again in 2022 for the Best Performing Company - IT Managed Services award and were proud to have been ranked 8 out of 25 on this occasion – a real honour to feature in the top 10 in such a prestigious line-up.
We are up against some stiff competition again this year but are hopeful that this year will be our year …
The Megabuyte awards – not just any award nomination
Megabuyte’s independence and rigour have ensured their industry-wide recognition. The proprietary nature of their content, unavailable through other data or information providers, and their focus on actionable insights, have made Megabuyte an indispensable resource for the tech sector’s investors and advisers.
This award nomination comes on the back of some extraordinary developments at Datum Datacentres. Since our last first nomination for the 2020 award, we have come through the worst of the Covid pandemic whilst building out the entirety of the second floor of our Farnborough colocation facility (FRN1). In 2021 we were acquired by UBS Asset Management and then, in 2022, we ourselves completed our first regional bolt-on acquisition of Teledata in Manchester to form the Datum Group.
Our key strength is our single-minded focus on providing highly secure resilient datacentres that perfectly serve business-critical IT. We are confident that our combined offering of purpose-built, state-of-the-art datacentre facilities and enterprise-class service management, creates an unbeatable colocation environment for both the enterprise and service providers.
- Two ultra-secure colocation facilities: Our flagship Farnborough FRN1 facility is located on the highly secure campus location on Cody Technology Park and our Manchester MCR1 facility is the only data centre in the world with an NSI Gold Approved BS5979 security centre on-site. We have two brand-new, purpose-built colocation facilities in the pipeline at our Farnborough and Manchester sites.
- Outstanding service management and on-site engineering support: A committed service management team to support positive and fruitful relationships and a highly qualified and dedicated engineering team that is available 24x7x365, including remote hands support.
- Energy efficiency: Energy efficient adiabatic cooling (FRN1), power from renewable sources with full carbon offsetting to reduce carbon footprint (this has been in place at our FRN1 facility since 2020 and our Manchester MCR1 facility is following suit).
- A proven track record: A prestigious and growing client list, including FTSE 250 and Fortune 500 companies.
We’ll let you know how we get on and hope to be sharing our winner status with you on 16 March.
In the meantime, if you want to see what all the fuss is about, why not get in touch or arrange a tour of our Farnborough or Manchester facilities?
