The client
Ensono is a global $560million company that helps IT leaders be the catalyst for change by harnessing the power of hybrid IT to transform their businesses; accelerating digital transformation by increasing agility and scalability through infrastructure modernisation and migration to public cloud.
Ensono has more than 50 years' experience managing business complexity and 15 years of proven cloud innovation, including the management of hundreds of complex migrations and the design of solutions that address a wide range of challenges that companies are facing today.
Trusted by some of the world’s most successful companies, Ensono deliver complete managed IT services to optimise and modernise complex IT estates, including mainframes, infrastructure, and cloud; helping clients to accelerate their digital transformation whist keeping business running.
Ensono invests millions of pounds each year into innovative research and development to ensure their senior practitioners are uniquely capable of advising clients for the best outcome. The business has expanded in size, scale and geographic scale in recent years to accelerate this innovation and transformation for their clients, acquiring Attenda in 2016, Inframon in 2017 and then in 2018, Wipro’s Hosted Data Center Service Business, bringing Ensono one step closer to its 2020 vision of being one of the recognised leaders in true hybrid IT, from public cloud to mainframe.
The challenge
Ensono provides managed infrastructure services that allow clients to connect seamlessly to their managed public cloud partners, with Ensono Cloud, their own flexible and secure managed private cloud infrastructure environment and within a mainframe or midrange environment, including the IBM iSeries. It was of paramount importance that their primary UK data centre could fully support their commitment to their clients and their vision for the future of the company.
What happened?
Ensono carried out an extensive study of the complete Datum service offering, comparing it with other leading providers within and outside the UK.
The combination of the quality of Datum’s data centre provision backed up by third party accreditations along with the location within a highly secure technology park and the flexible supportive approach to client service satisfied the parent company that the offering was in line with requirements to support the needs of their core client base. It was sufficiently robust and secure to support ongoing development with the appropriate service levels and cost base to satisfy their demanding and growing installed base.
Datum colocation
Since confirming the suitability of Datum’s offering, the client has demonstrated their faith in the platform as a core building block in their ongoing development by signing a 10-year renewal to confirm Datum as their primary UK data centre.
The two companies have aligned their messaging in guiding and supporting clients through their digital transformation journey, and have developed a strong partnership with a track record in mutually supporting sales and winning deals together.
In the client’s own words
After rigorous review and comparison we were delighted to confirm the partnership by signing the 10-year renewal with Datum as our primary UK data centre. It is clear that Datum stands out in the data centre market, sharing our ethos for exceptional client service, and providing us with secure, resilient and scalable data centre solutions and account management that is the right fit to support our trusted managed IT services.
